A charming bakery offering oven-fresh yellow nazuki for 3 lari. A few doors down, a neighboring bakery carries this same nazuki at an identical price. While other Tbilisi bakeries favor heavily spiced nazuki, this shop takes a refreshingly subtle approach\u2014their nazuki contains minimal cloves, cinnamon, and sugar, or forgoes them entirely, allowing the gentle flavor of the dough itself to shine through. Fresh from the oven, the texture is fine-grained, pillowy soft, and light, remarkably reminiscent of the koppepan rolls<\/a> served in Japanese school lunches. It’s perhaps best described as a “lightly sweetened yellow koppepan studded with raisins.” Whether this appeals to you is a matter of personal taste, but in my experience, bakeries in Georgia rarely offer bread with this kind of moist, tender, Japanese-style crumb\u2014a quality that makes this shop genuinely noteworthy. However, plese note that nazuki may not be available depending on the time of day. They carry a variety of breads beyond nazuki as well, and I’m eager to explore more of their selection on my next visit. Card payment accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
